Special Talks with Visiting Authors

Queens Public Library will be hosting special talks and workshops with visiting authors. On Friday July 13th from 2 to 3pm at South Hollis Library, Sarah Hutt the author of the Girls Who Code book “Crack the Code” will host a talk geared towards tweens — ages 8 to 14 — sharing her experiences in the coding world as well as lead coding activities for all who attend. Participants will receive a copy of the new book. Seating is limited, so early registration is recommended!

 

 

An Evening with Dennis McKenna:
The Shaman and The Scientist and Director Sarah Hutt on Storytelling for Impact

The evening will consist of documentary screening, as well as, presentations [both personal and scientific] on psychedelics, their therapeutic potential, and the art of storytelling for impact. Following an auditory journey curated by the multi-instrumentalist project, Xoobreak, we will transition into the LATE NIGHT gathering with local DJs, Otto and Tristan Dufrene, and special visiting musical guest, Halfred (Merkaba Music, Italy).
